| Color:
The colour grade refers to the degree to which colour is present. The less colour present, the rarer it is. The GIA Colour Scale ranges from D to Z. Grades D-E-F are in the colourless range. Grades G-H-I-J are in the near colourless range with only trace amounts of detectable colour. |

Hue refers to which colour is present in a diamond. Most diamonds lay within the colourless-yellow spectrum (listed as None). Some diamonds however, display a brown, grey, green or a mixed hue. Though commonly omitted from diamond certificates, the diamond industry deems these hues less desirable and integral in establishing value.

Clarity refers to inclusions visible under 10X magnification. These clarity characteristics help determine quality and are often used to establish identity or whether the diamond is natural and untreated.

Cut refers to how well a diamond interacts with light. A well cut diamond will appear brilliant and full of life, while a poorly cut diamond will appear lifeless.

| Symmetry:
Symmetry refers to the arrangement and even placement of a diamond’s facets. A symmetrical facet arrangement maximizes beauty and minimizes the potential for light loss.

| Treatment:
Diamond treatments and synthetics are increasingly being passed off as natural diamonds. Common gemological equipment can no longer detect all treatments or synthetics. Therefore only gemological institutes with advanced equipment can certify that your diamond is 100% natural and untreated.
